We are seeking a pioneering Digital Trust & Responsible AI Practice Manager to establish and lead a specialist capability within ojas.design. This role will be responsible for developing and delivering client services that support ethical, secure, transparent, and inclusive technology adoption, particularly in the AI and data space.

This role combines strategic foresight, technical fluency, governance understanding, and people leadership. You will work across advisory, design, and implementation to ensure clients can adopt emerging technologies responsibly while maintaining public trust and organisational integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a trusted knowledge base and library of tools that support client and team use

Client Engagement

  • Lead high-impact client engagements that balance innovation with ethics, governance, and system accountability

  • Advise clients on emerging AI risks, compliance with regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, UK AI Principles), and adoption of trust-building practices

  • Support the integration of trust-by-design into digital strategy, service design, and transformation programmes

Thought Leadership

  • Represent ojas.design in external forums, panels, and knowledge-sharing platforms on topics related to AI, ethics, and digital trust

  • Shape internal and external publications on topics such as algorithmic fairness, human-AI interaction, and AI readiness frameworks

  • Stay ahead of industry developments in AI governance, trust architecture, and emerging regulation

Capability Building

  • Mentor and grow a multidisciplinary team with skills in AI ethics, data strategy, cybersecurity, service design, and risk

  • Collaborate with other practice leads across strategy, transformation, and design to embed trust and responsibility into all engagements

  • Foster an internal culture of ethical awareness, critical curiosity, and proactive foresight

Skills and Competencies:

Essential

  • Strong consulting experience in digital ethics, AI governance, risk, or emerging technology strategy

  • Expertise in developing or applying AI frameworks (e.g., OECD Principles, EU AI Act risk tiers, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF)

  • Understanding of data governance, privacy, explainability, and fairness in algorithmic systems

  • Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into actionable strategies for diverse stakeholders

  • Track record of leading teams and delivering client-facing advisory services in digital, innovation, or public sector contexts

  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with comfort navigating ethical ambiguity and complex ecosystems

Desirable

  • Exposure to sectors where digital trust is critical (e.g. health, mobility, finance, government, or tech)

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams spanning design, data science, legal, and policy domains

  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, human-centred AI design, and safety-by-design practices

  • Academic background or certifications in digital ethics, information security, AI policy, or related areas (e.g. REAICI, CIPP/E, ISO/IEC certifications)

About You

You’re a thoughtful leader and systems thinker who understands the risks, opportunities, and societal implications of emerging technologies. You are motivated by purpose, not just progress. You believe in innovation that is intentional, inclusive, and accountable.

You combine a strategic mindset with a hands-on approach, capable of bridging the gap between policy, ethics, technology, and delivery. Whether you're advising on AI governance frameworks, facilitating co-design workshops, or guiding teams through complex regulatory landscapes, you bring clarity, care, and credibility.

You are comfortable working across disciplines, design, policy, technology, and business, and enjoy mentoring others while shaping future-ready capabilities. You’re driven by questions like “Should we build this?” not just “Can we?”, and you're excited by the opportunity to build a practice that puts ethics and trust at the centre of transformation.
